2011 – Bret Michaels undergoes surgery to repair a hole in his heart at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

2010 – German hard rock band Scorpions release a statement saying that their 2010 album, Sting in the Tail, and subsequent tour will be their last.

2002 – Van Halen leave their longtime label, Warner Brothers.

1994 – Gilby Clarke performs at the Agora Theatre.

1991 – “MTV Unplugged,” the network’s highly acclaimed acoustic music series, is recorded in Europe for the first time. The Cure and Paul McCartney are the artists captured in performance in London. –

1979 – The Cars were named Best New Band of 1978 in Rolling Stone magazine’s reader’s poll.

1976 –  Harry Chapin plays the Front Row Theatre.

1975 – Led Zeppelin rocks Richfield Coliseum.

1970 – James Brown hits #24 with “Ain’t It Funky Now (Part 1)”.

1964 – The Beatles tape an interview in Paris with Harold Kelly of America’s Armed Forces Radio. Broadcast the next day, it offers some insight into their music and its inspiration. There are also several samples of Beatles humor, such as when Kelly asks about the boys’ hairdos — and Ringo replies, “Hair-don’t.” They also discuss their upcoming movie — and Paul notes that he and John were expected to write six original songs for it.

The boisterous Saturday Night Live star went on to act in such film comedies as Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Continental Divide and Neighbors. He died in LA of an overdose of cocaine and heroin March 5th, 1982. He was 33.

Warren Zevon – Died in 2003
The singer-songwriter released his final album, The Wind, just weeks before dying of lung cancer September 7th, 2003 at 56.
